Alignment

The orthotics and proper cleat position are the only ways to insure proper alignment on the bike. Doing a fitting without first getting orthotics and aligned with orthotics is like building a house without a foundation. If you are investing in a bike fit start with D2 to insure a proper foundation.

We can adjust the fore foot and rear foot alignment independently with our proprietary orthotic shim system. Wedges between the cleat and sole are a “shotgun” approach to  alignment. You may need different amounts of fore foot and rear foot shimming to achieve the best alignment. Cleat shims don't allow for this. A few companies now have orthotic shims. However they are only offer fore foot shims. Forefoot shims adjust the power portion of your pedal stroke; rear foot shims in conjunction with cleat alignment guide your up stroke. Their forefoot shims go from the met heads forward to the toes. Your toes really don't affect your alignment. Ours go from the met heads back into the foot to support and align the entire foot. If you know anything about orthotics you will know that this is far more effective. I bet even if you know nothing about orthotics; common sense will tell you that this is a better way.
